In addition to these benefits, they offer many advantages over leading aligner brands. They are more clear and discreet, more comfortable and more efficient.
How Do Clear Aligners Work?
Successful orthodontics with aligners require excellent compliance throughout the duration of active tooth movement. Spend too many hours without the aligners in and teeth will get off track. In addition, for optimal tooth movement it is necessary to adhere several attachments, or tooth-colored composite anchors, to the teeth. These allow the aligners to apply the necessary force vectors to move teeth in three dimensions, so this treatment technique is not truly invisible. If you have concerns about these attachments, Dr. Pompei can omit them from your treatment plan and explain the tooth movements that may be compromised. Lastly, if you ignore instructions and eat or drink with the aligners in, you are at a much higher risk of getting cavities.
